Last character to do, tried my hand at translating X’s slew of bosses. Retro-localization!? See it HERE.
Mega Man
Decided what the hell, let’s do some X7 stuff! This was for the PS2 and localizations just got better with time, so not sure if there will be much difference in how I would’ve translated it and what the official one was, but this is mostly just for my personal practice.

I have finally finished doing the boss dialogue for Rockman X6. It was actually done for a long time but I was just way too lazy to clean it up. See it HERE. I used this chance to practice spicing up the wording especially with some of the stronger personalities (Dynamo) to avoid “it can’t be helped”s and “as expected, even you as Sigma, have not fully revived”s. Not sure if there are many major differences between this and the official localization compared to older games but it was fun to do.
X6 is actually a game I really love despite its flaws and detractors so I am glad I finally got this done.
Took longer than it should have due to procrastination, but here it be. Now can move onto X6?! Or maybe something that’s not Rockman for once?! Who knows. For now, another one done for me to look at in a few days and go “why did I write that” and change things around anyway.
Good day, folks. Rockman Mega World was a whacky game that included remakes of Rockman 1-3 then had you fight original bosses and a Wily Tower when all 3 were beat. It included some brief original text at this point. There’s barely anything, so it doesn’t warrant a full page, but here it is anyway.
WILY TOWER (RM1-3 Beat):
日本語 Japanese
Translation
Wily: Hahaha! Rockman! Don’t think for a second this is over!
I still have a powerful trump card up my sleeve.
These 3 combat robots were created for the sole purpose to defeat you; they are specialized robots!!
Now, Rockman, let us meet again – if you’re still alive! Hahahaha!
DR. LIGHT LAB (Before Choosing Stage)
日本語 Japanese
Translation
Dr. Light: Rockman! Here you can select and equip whatever you like from the special weapons and movement items that you’ve collected so far!
You got this from BOSS!
Okay! WEAPON has been equipped!
Rockman! We don’t know what’s going to happen, so take at least one of the movement items with you.
Added a missing piece of the Rockman World 5 script, the upgraded Rock Arm for whe you die too much. It has been added to the page.
See it HERE. Finally got around to doing this. Like aaalways, it will forever be a work in progress. Hopefully it’s sufficiently different from the main release, I haven’t checked that script yet.
I tried to give lots of the bosses certain speaking patterns, like Grizzly speaks deliberately and fully because I see him, despite his appearance, as an honourable almost samurai-esque dude.
X is job focused and overall polite.
Zero is straight forward and has a bit of a mouth.
Dinorex is a brute who can be strangely poetic.
Rosered is a petty punk.
Dynamo is a goofball and talks like one.
Etc.
Hopefully it’s decent!
After letting my Switch chill all by its lonesome for far too long (I love the thing, but PS4 games always had a way of drawin me away), I’ve recently begun downloading all sorts of shiz that interests me to see what sticks, because one thing I love about the Switch is it’s all about dem games.
One that immediately caught my eye was Mighty Gunvolt Burst, the whacky crossover between Inticreates’ Armed Blue Gunvolt series and Inafune’s baby Mighty No 9. The Gunvolt games are solid as hell, reminiscent of the Rockman Zero games that Inticreates previously did for Capcom. Mighty No. 9 was the promised return to Rockman roots that local madman and self-titled father of the universe Inafune promised to fans worldwide, and, well, pretty much everyone knows how that turned out. Mighty No. 9 wasn’t horrible by any stretch, but it was definitely a big letdown, especially in the visuals and charm department. Wily ol’ Inafune, up to his tricks again!
But for Mighty Gunvolt Burst, the most tl;dr review I could give it is: this is the game Mighty No. 9 should have been, and with a tighter budget to boot.
Hello peeps, here is the Rockman World 5 JPN script + translation as per request. I dunno if there’s really much difference between this and the localization, but if you were ever curious about dat J script, here ya go.
Also it was fun to do a leisurely translation.

Added it to the Rockman 8 page at the bottom. Dialogue-wise it’s nothing that special, but they were fun cameos at least.
