Rockman & Forte/Megaman & Bass’s translated CD Database, but just 51-100! To save space cuz’ holy it’s a lot. The other 50 are on a separate page. A few are same as official English, some are a bit different, some are totally different! I’ll make some notes of the more contrived puns or super Japanesey ones.

A true Edo City-ite through and through. Once it becomes festival season, he can’t keep still.

• The first line of his profile data is interesting. It’s Chakichaki no Edo City sodachi which is very obviously a play on Chakichaki no Edokko which refers to a pure, 100% through and through Edo person, or in modern terms, Tokyoite. From what I can gather it relates to those in Tokyo whose lineage dates all the way back to when Tokyo was called Edo. Probs. So there’s a town called Edo City in Rockman world that probably acts like that world’s Tokyo. And Burst Man is 100% born and raised there. How his “lineage” dates back I dunno, but at the very least the fact he has Edo City oil in his circuits is what’s being conveyed.

• His bad point is he can wear geta 下駄, which are those old-school Japanese wooden clogs that you wear with kimonos and stuff.

• He shares the same Good Point with Shadow Man, Kawarimi ga hayai. It’s a pun for a different reason. Taking the kanji/words of kawarimi 変わり身, essentially means “change body”. Turbo Man can transform his body into a car. Ohoho!
• His dislike, punctures, could also be a dislike for Punk. Panku is both the word for puncture and the pronunciation of Punk in Japanese. Indeed, Punk is spiky and could probably pop his tires.

• His good point, Kikokushijo are for those who went to live/study abroad and have now come home. Not just like on exchange, but for a solid while. Worldly experience, whoo. But that’s also why his Japanese is weird.
• His like…yikes. He’s a kappa, so it makes sense, but it’s weird. A shirikodama, is like a soul orb sort-of thing that people have…in their ass. Kappas were known to love these things and took them from people’s asses. If you lost your shirikodama, you became a lifeless husk. You’re toast. So it makes total sense as his like, but it doesn’t stop him from being creepy as shit.

ハイパーストームH
